The Yellow team of the Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings are two time champions winning back to back titles in 2010 and 2011. This season they have made a lot of changes to their squad hoping to start the campaign off to a flyer in order to win the title for a third time

The tournament’s second game will be their opening match of the season where they play the Delhi Daredevils. They are captained by India’s international captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and are coached by New Zealand ex-captain Stephen Fleming.

The players that MS Dhoni and the team management decided to retain included Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Dwayne Bravo.
Their side looks complete and balanced. Pathan will be a good addition to the side given his ability to bat as well as bowl. Sharma, the spin bowler will likely play second fiddle to Ashwin. He will also have to contest with Badree for a starting berth.

Going through their international roster, they may face an issue choosing four international players to represent them given that they have a good strong set of overseas players

STRENGTHS – Along with the retained players the strength of this team lies in their batting and the number of all-rounders in the team that provides them a lot of options both in the batting as well as in the bowling department. Another thing which could work in CSK’s favor is that most of its players will be available for the entire season as the foreign recruits don’t have much international matches lined up.

WEAKNESSES - The only weak point in this team is their bowling, but however it is compensated with great come back by Aashish Nehra and Dwayne Bravo and the fielding is also improving with the suggestions of Brendon Mc Cullum and Suresh Rains, Faf Du Plessis
